Van Session is a travelling project born from the wish to turn a bus into a place of shared creation: to take music beyond the walls of a recording studio, into a space where the journey is woven together with creativity and with the people met along the way.
Every edition is led by a theme that sets its artistic direction: a thread running through all the stops, shaping the recordings and the collaborations along the route.
On board travel selected artists who cover one or more legs of the tour, recording and building a collective sound journey, open to the contribution of whoever they meet. At every stop somebody gets off and somebody gets on, so the flow of ideas never breaks.
In each place it reaches, the bus opens up to the local community: anyone living or passing there can step in, listen, contribute, or simply let the experience wash over them. Music becomes a pretext for meetings and new relationships. It is not just a jam session: it is creativity that moves, meets and changes.

A guiding theme
Every edition has a thread that gives form to the material produced along the road.
What is made during the journey then becomes video, audio and stories: one-off material, tied to the place and the day it was recorded.
Why Van Session
Started in Trento with the support of Centro Musica Trento — the youth-policy project of the City of Trento entrusted to UpDoo! oo, run by Lorenzo Frizzera — and of Associazione Echoo, Van Session sets out to be a model of cultural production and participation that opens new routes for creativity: an invitation to rediscover music as a collective experience, alive and always on the move.
Because music is movement. Because honest connections happen when you share spaces, kilometres and ideas. Because every road has a story waiting to be turned into sound.
